Custom Price Field
Custom price field — let the customer type a price themselves for donations, tips, pay-what-you-want, or custom quotes.

Settings reference
| Setting | Description |

| Field label | The title customers see above the amount input. |
| Minimum amount / Maximum amount | Optional limits on what the customer can enter. Leave empty for no restriction. |
| Description | Optional help text shown below the field label on the product page. |
| Required field | Customers must enter an amount before adding the product to cart. |
| Pricing | The amount the customer enters is added to the product price. There is no Price type to choose. |
| Quantity pricing | Per product quantity multiplies the price by the quantity ordered. Flat fee (once per line item) charges it once. |
| Conditional logic | Tick Enable conditional logic to show or hide this field based on another field in the same group. See Conditional logic. |

- In WordPress, go to Smart Add-Ons → Add-On Groups and open a group, or click + Add group.
- Click + Add field.
- Enter a Field label and set Field type to Customer-defined price.
- Under Customer price limits, set a Minimum amount and Maximum amount if you want to restrict the range.
- Choose Quantity pricing: Flat fee (once per line item) suits tips and donations.
- Click Save group, then open a product the group applies to and check the field.
Example: optional tip or donation
A store adds a custom price field labelled “Add a tip” with a Minimum amount of 1 and a Maximum amount of 100. A customer who enters 5 pays the product price plus 5, and the tip appears as its own line under the product in the cart and on the order. An amount outside the limits is rejected with a message naming the limit. Left empty, the field adds nothing unless you tick Required field.
Custom price field FAQ
Does the entered amount replace the product price?
No. It is added on top of the product price. For a pay-what-you-want product, set the product’s own price to 0 and make the custom price field required with a minimum amount.
Can I use the entered amount in a formula?
Yes, on Pro plans. Another field’s formula can reference it as {field:ID}, which resolves to the amount entered. See Pricing.
Which currency is used?
Your store’s WooCommerce currency. The customer types a number only.
