AI Suggestions

AI Upsell Suggestions

Ask for add-on ideas for a specific product, review what comes back, and drop the ones you like straight into the group you are editing.

Plan requirement: AI suggestions are a Pro feature (ai_suggestions), included on Pro, Agency, and Enterprise licences. Without it the panel shows “AI suggestions require a Pro plan or higher.” and no request is sent. See Licensing.

What it does

Smart Add-Ons sends a short description of one product to Dhyan Cloud, which asks OpenAI for add-on ideas and returns up to three suggestions. Each is a proposed field — a label, a short description, a field type, and a suggested price.

Suggestions are a starting point, not a configuration. Nothing is created or published until you add a suggestion to a group and save it yourself.

Where to find it

The AI panel lives inside the add-on group editor, not in its own menu. Open a group under Smart Add-Ons → Add-On Groups; once the group is scoped to a single product and that product is selected, an Upsell suggestions panel appears above the group’s fields. Groups assigned to a category or applied globally do not show it, because the suggestion is built from one specific product.

Generating suggestions

  1. Open the add-on group and confirm it targets a single product.
  2. In the Upsell suggestions panel, click Generate suggestions.
  3. Read the returned cards: label, description, suggested price, and how likely the model rates it to convert.
  4. Click Add to group on anything worth keeping. Repeat for as many as you want.
  5. Adjust the new fields as needed, then save the group — nothing is stored until you do.

What Smart Add-Ons sends

Each request carries product context only:

SentValue
ProductThe product ID and its name.
PriceThe product’s current price, used to scale suggested add-on prices.
CategoryThe product’s first category, or general when it has none.
LanguageYour site locale, so suggestions come back in the right language.
SiteYour site domain, plus your licence token for authentication.

No customer, order, or analytics data is included in the request.

What comes back

FieldMeaning
labelThe proposed add-on name, e.g. “Gift wrapping”.
descriptionA one-line explanation of the add-on.
typeThe field type suggested for it, such as a checkbox or a text input.
pricing_type, suggested_priceThe pricing model and starting price proposed for the add-on.
conversion_likelihoodThe model’s own rough rating of the idea — an opinion, not a measurement from your store.

What “Add to group” creates

Adding a suggestion appends a new field to the group open in the editor:

  • The suggestion’s label becomes the field label, and its internal name is that label lowercased with spaces turned into underscores.
  • The suggested field type is used, falling back to a checkbox when none is given.
  • The description carries over, and one pricing rule is created from the suggested pricing type and price.
  • The field starts optional with no options list — add options, conditions, and validation yourself.

Treat generated prices and wording as a draft. Check them against your own margins and tone before saving the group.

Requirements and limits

  • An active Pro (or higher) licence — the licence token is what authenticates the request to Dhyan Cloud.
  • Outbound HTTPS from your site to Dhyan Cloud. Sites that block outbound requests get a failure message instead of suggestions.
  • A monthly allowance tied to your plan. Once it is used up, requests return “Monthly AI quota exceeded” until the next month.
  • Suggestions are generated per request from the product context above — the model has no view of your store’s sales history.

API: request suggestions

The route requires a user who can manage WooCommerce and takes a single product_id; the plugin assembles the rest of the context. It returns 403 with a message when the plan does not include the feature.
